Dr. Rain limits her practice to emotional, behavioral, learning, and developmental problems of infants, children and adolescents. She provides psychological testing and therapy.
Testing
Testing is typically recommended for developmental problems such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, Learning Disorders such as Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, short-term memory deficits, and ADHD (both the Inattentive Type, as well as the Hyperactive/Impulsive Type). Gifted Student Testing (GSP) is also available.
Dr. Rain thoroughly discusses the test findings with the parents and also prepares a comprehensive report. These reports have specific recommendations to maximize the child’s learning and performance in school.
Therapy
Therapy for many children is much more effective if the parents participate. By involving the parent, treatment strategies used in the session can be carried out at home. There are some situations where individual therapy is indicated.
Dr. Rain works with adults only in their position as parents, typically helping them to develop specialized parenting skills and behavior management tools.

About Medication
Sometimes, medication is an important part of treatment. If recommended, Dr. Rain will refer you to your Pediatrician, a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, or a Pediatric Neurologist. Dr. Rain is not licensed to prescribe medication. As the parent, the decision about medication is always up to you.
How To Get Started
Dr. Rain initially meets only with the parents in order to get a detailed description of their concerns, as well as a history of the child’s or teen’s development. Call (321) 984-0708 to schedule this first visit. The secretary will try her best to give you a convenient appointment in a timely fashion.
At the end of the first visit, Dr. Rain will discuss with you her recommendations about how to help your child or teen. Sometimes testing is recommended. If testing is not recommended, a treatment plan will be discussed with you.
